Here's some incredibly boring information about me and my website.

about the site title

I use Visual Studio Code to write every aspect of this website. I much prefer it over the Neocities editor for many reasons, but in particular it gives me absolute freedom to cock up whatever new feature I'm adding without breaking the live version of the website. Naturally, it then becomes a massive pain to update as I press my fingers against my temples to remember what files I've altered since the last time. Eventually I'll set it up using Git or something.

Occasionally, I write some basic Python scripts to automate the more tedious tasks, for example, whenever I want to update the gallery I slam the new images in a folder and get the script to generate the tags for me.

I draw extremely loose inspiration from old GeoCities sites. However, a thing to note is that I try to program this site “well”. I would like for the site to be responsive for different screen sizes or on mobile, which is why I use the grid layout over tables (which would be more "authentic").

This website is programmed using evil HTML, which is identical to regular HTML. The evil factor primarily manifests in my esoteric programming (low quality code) that can kill any real web developer at 73 yards.

The name carries no real meaning. If a tall shadowy figure stops you on the street and attempts to convince you otherwise, turn away from it, walk away, keep walking and do not cease or turn around until the sounds of writhing flesh has entirely concluded.

The ultimate goal for this website is to construct it into the Fourth Temple, following Terry Davis' legendary work with TempleOS, may he rest in peace.

Regretfully, and by legal requirement, I must inform you that I am British. I hail from the land of God's chosen people (Greater Manchester), and live in an actual village. We are full of coal pits.

I am a geologist and will soon be entering university to study it, which I have prepared for by consuming the Hawaiian archipelago – my condolences to those with family in Honolulu. I am fascinated with terrestrial planets (i.e. solid planets like Earth): Partly due to pretty rocks and partly due to the countless interacting mechanics driving their slow but constant evolution and changing surface. I am incredibly grateful to live on the greatest planet in the universe.

I love reading and have recently been trying to pick it up more rather than rot online. However, I just got my arse kicked trying to understand Inferno, but personally I think the lads had a lovely time. Might be back to Biff and Chip books for me.

I am an avid scrobbler, have an ever expanding rock collection and am totally proper emo.
